  • What are the benefits of care at home?

    One benefit for clients' is maintaining their independence and the security of being in familiar surroundings and in their own community. The cost of care at home is another benefit, as even quite extensive care can cost less than a residential care home. 

  • How is Windrush Care different?

    The quality of our care as shown by feedback from our clients, their families and our Regulator, the CQC. Our training coordinator runs our training in-house, which means we know any new recruits very well and it can make all the difference to their confidence. 


    Windrush Care also takes an active role in the care sector. Our director David Chalk works with both the UKHCA and the Gloucestershire Care Providers Association (GCPA). Windrush Care are the GCPA Team of the Year Award 2019 winners. 

  • What areas do we cover?

    Windrush Care is based in Cheltenham, and covers much of the North Cotswolds including; Cheltenham, Bourton-on-the-Water and Cirencester. 

  • How do I ensure I receive a carer that I'll like?

    Our carers are fully trained and experienced in what they do. We take time to carefully select that carers that will best suit you, based on your requirements, but also your personality and the type of carer you desire. However, we really believe that all of our carers are empathetic, enthusiastic people with a friendly nature, who have a desire to deliver the best care possible. 



  • What types of care do you offer?

    We focus on delivering high quality Personal care, Companionship, Respite care and general help at home. Other specialist care we offer includes; home from hospital, dementia and end of life care. For those who require Live-in carer, we can provide carers for you through our Live-in care partnerships. 

  • What are the costs of care at home?

  • Is care at home more expensive than residential?

    Home care is a service that you can pay for at your choosing. The client will decide on the level and amount of care required for them specifically, and pay only for these hours. More often than not, residential care is more expensive than home care, and does not give you the flexibility of that which home care can. 

  • Do you care for people with Dementia?

    We specialise in Dementia Care, and have vast expereince with supporting clients with Dementia or early stages of memory loss.  We support indivduals with complex needs where we work closely with GP's, District Nurses and Specialists Nurses. Every client is regularly assesed to spot any changing requirements in their care. 


    All our staff care provided training in Dementia when they first begin their career with Windrush Care, and many have chosen to extra specialist courses to provide extra knowledge supporting individuals with memory loss. 

  • Are your staff given security checks?

    All of our staff have up-to-date Enhanced DBS checks which we recheck every 3 years in relation to our company policy.  All staff sign strict confidentiality agreements when they begin working for Windrush Care to continue the security and confidentiality in all our practices. Regular reviews and assessments are carried out with our carers. Windrush Care is also a member of the UKHCA and is regulated by the CQC.

  • Do you cover calls under 1 hour?

    We believe in providing the best quality care for each of our clients. Therefore we deliver a minimum of 1 hour per call for all of our clients.

  • Are your staff fully trained?

    All our staff are trained up to the in-house level 1 certificate standard when they first begin at Windrush care and are provided with regular update training. Our in-house training also includes medication and first-aid. Many staff have also acquired other NVQ qualifications over their careers, including level 2 and level 3. We fully support all of our carers and assess them regularly to ensure they are giving the best care at all times.
